   Guinness9th January 2006 System Arctic saves the day for Guinness event trucks.Diageo has installed Manitowoc Beverage Systems’ new System Arctic glycol coolers in its Guinness event trucks to improve the reliability of the service from its mobile bars. System Arctic works by circulating glycol at –5 deg.C and using Manitowoc Beverage Systems’ state-of-the-art aluminium dry block under bar heat exchangers to closely control the temperature differential between the beer and the glycol. The innovative system has a unique ability to flatten out fluctuating input temperatures, making it a highly efficient cooler which offers consistent performance throughout the high peaks in demand found at major sporting events and concerts. The coolers are also quick to set up, reaching a working temperature within 30 minutes of being switched on.

In the largest 40' articulated Guinness event truck, the System Arctic glycol coolers can chill up to 100 kegs of Guinness in a day and up to 30 kegs in the smaller trucks with on board cellars. The coolers have proved capable of consistently cooling the Guinness Chilled and Extra Cold Stout down to the required temperatures and of maintaining the clear two degree temperature differential between the brands.
